Our Story
Ackermann was founded in 2009 by a group of professionals with extensive experience in the Executive Search sector and Human Resources consulting. After a long career in various multinational companies in the industry, they decided to establish their own business project. They share a vision: to meet the talent needs of companies by combining technical rigor with a personalized and approachable approach, to create a positive and lasting impact on the organizations they work with.
We begin our journey
We opened our offices in Madrid in 2009 and in 2010 we also set up an office in Barcelona. It is a time of economic crisis and many companies bet on foreign expansion as a survival strategy. At Ackermann we decided to support them in their journey and we put our focus on Latin America as the first strategic stop in the process of internationalization of Spanish businesses. In addition, given its diversity, this region was managing to avoid the worst consequences of the crisis.
We open our offices in Latin America
Between 2010 and 2014 we opened our offices in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Peru in order to be present in our clients’ key markets and thus being able to provide our services to them with the closeness and thoroughness that define our corporate DNA. The desire to become a leading international firm is at the genesis of Ackermann and that is why in 2010 we became partners of The Beaumont Group, building a global network to respond to the growing demand for Executive Search services around the world.
We enter the U.S. market
In 2017 and after consolidating our presence in Latin America, we decided to tackle the US market by opening Ackermann’s Miami office. To further boost our international reach, we formalized our entry into SpenglerFox’s capital in 2018, an international Executive Search firm with a solid position in Central and Eastern Europe, emerging markets and Asia. With this venture, we were able to increase our network of proprietary offices and reinforced our service offering based on global practices.
Continued unstoppable growth
Since 2020 our growth has remained unrelenting, both from a geographical point of view, opening new proprietary offices by 2024 in countries such as Ecuador, Dominican Republic or Portugal; as well as from the point of view of our activity, expanding our service offering with the Board of Directors services and the Learning and Skills Development services (Ackermann Labs). In 2024 we will celebrate our 15th anniversary by having become a global group specialized in talent. We currently have, through our proprietary offices and our international investments and alliances, a network of almost 40 offices and more than 200 consultants distributed across 4 continents, and we are the largest headhunter in Latin America, where we are present in Mexico, Colombia (Medellin and Bogota), Brazil (Sao Paulo and Rio), Chile, Peru, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Panama and Ecuador.
